How to Achieve Your Goals and Potential Through Visualization

17 Sep

Visualization techniques have become the new normal for people who want to achieve their goals and realize their full potential. By stepping out of our present circumstances and thinking about the future, we are able to see what could be, if only we had the courage and motivation to will it into existence.

The most accomplished, successful, and wise individuals use visualization to accelerate their achievements, dreams, goals, and ambitions.

How, you might ask? Well, visualization does four things: it reprograms your brain to recognize and make sense of what it is you need to succeed. It builds your internal motivation so that you are driven toward action. It activates your creative subconscious to generate innovative ideas to achieve your goals. And finally, it initiates the law of attraction, which draws people, resources, and circumstances that you need to achieve your goals towards you.

Here are some tips and tricks to help you visualize your success and achieve your potential!

Be Specific

Imagine the goal you want to achieve. Now imagine the future where you have achieved that goal. Imagine what it looks like, what it feels like, and what it would mean for the rest of your life. Engage as many of the five senses as you can. What do you see? How do you feel? Who is around you? What are you wearing? By grounding the visualization in what is real and possible, you begin to really solidify the possibility of achieving your dreams.

Journal

Journaling is an immensely underrated yet powerful tool to help you visualize success. Journaling is basically a self-coaching session where you get to take all your ideas, aspirations, frustrations, and goals out of your head and into the real world. When you write down your goals, you’re planting the seeds of your success.

Speak it into existence

Affirmations are your secret best friend. An affirmation is a statement that literally speaks your goal into existence. It makes you state what you want as if you already have it. Here’s an example: “I have completed my passion project and successfully started a new business.” This is a powerful tool to adjust your mindset to be more positive and geared toward future success.

Create a Vision Board

A vision board can be made of anything you have on hand: a piece of paper, a poster board, or the back of a cardboard box. A vision book works just as well. The most crucial aspect of your vision board or book is the pictures that illustrate your desires, goals, and aspirations. It can be a picture of a dream house, your favorite car, or a suit you’re saving up for. It can be anything that speaks to what you want out of your future.

Finally, you should remember that visualization is only the first step. To achieve your goals, you must take the steps needed to bring your plan to fruition. If you want to learn martial arts, for example, visualizing yourself with a black belt is the first step, but then you have to actually sign up for a class to begin the process.

If you have a dream you genuinely believe in; then it’s time to make it a reality.
