After 2 and half years of desk work and little to no exercise, I have decided to go back to the gym again and whoop myself into shape. Thanks to reading Tom Venuto‘s Burn the Fat guide a few years ago, I felt like I was right back into the routine in just a couple of days.

Sure it’s tough to commit to working out again on a regular basis, but if you are 50 lbs (23 kg) overweight like I was, you become disgusted enough with yourself that you don’t give yourself any excuses. The fat has to go!

For me, I did not just want to lose weight. Losing weight can be achieved by eating less and yet more nutritious foods (which I am now) and by doing cardio. Lots of cardio!

I do some cardio (approximately 15 – 45 minutes every day). If I go for shorter times because of time restraints etc, I make sure to intensify it accordingly as well. I want to leave the gym with my shirt thoroughly sweated through. Gross, I know, but I get a certain satisfaction out of it.

This has worked quite well for me and after just a week of working out, I can already see the fat dropping. I start to appear slimmer and my clothes start to get looser… a really good feeling if you ask me 🙂

Yesterday I made the mistake of stepping on a scale again and realized I had only lost about 5 lbs (a little over 2 kg). I was shocked and saddened at the same time because I knew for a fact I had burn more fat than that!

Tom Venuto's Burn The Fat reviewed

Then it hit me: I had not only done cardio, I had actually done some weight training as well. Aside from the cardio I mentioned, I would spend 15 to 30 minutes each day doing various forms of weightlifting – aka muscle building. Meaning, I had already started putting on some muscle weight.

In other words, my first week of working out had some pretty incredible results. Not only did I burn fat and lose weight, I gained strength and muscle weight as well. Instead of being depressed about my (what I thought) meager results, I became excited and pumped to keep going.

Should you focus on cardio or on muscle building?

If you are overweight (aka fat) like me, why not do both? Unless you don’t care about becoming stronger and more musculus – certainly do both.

Personally I put more energy towards cardio at this point just because losing weight is my #1 priority. As soon as I lose the excess fat though, I will be focusing most of my energy on muscle and strength building.

Cardio will always be part of my workout routine but more as a maintenance thing than a weightloss thing.

Either way, if you’re just starting out, I highly recommend you check out the Burn the Fat ebook by all natural body builder Tom Venuto. All successful workouts start with a solid understanding of what works and how to go about getting the maximum results for the same (or less) effort.

Losing weight is no easy task. Sacrificing delicious food for the sake of losing a couple pounds is hard. Running around the block for an hour 3 times a week is also not very pleasant – especially if you could finish an episode of your favorite TV show during that time instead.

Why do some of us have to work so hard to whip ourselves into shape – while other people seem to eat what they want (when they want) and never put on any weight? The answer may surprise you: They have habitually healthier lifestyles.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but lets dissect a few factors that lead to unhealthy weight gain.

  • Lack of sleep: Not getting enough sleep has a direct impact on ones health. I personally find that if I go for a few days with less than 6 hours of sleep per night, my immune system shuts down. The first thing I will notice is me getting cold/flu like symptoms and all kinds of nasty bugs will follow – like lack of energy, exhaustion, stress, etc. The symptom I hate the most though is getting flabby muscles – especially belly muscles – making me lose my slim appearance very quickly.
Ever wondered why new parents tend to put on weight so quickly? I will go as far as saying that I find it fairly easy to manage my weight if I get enough sleep on a nightly basis. This takes commitment though to get to bed early every evening… which is not always easy for us night owls.
Now let me ask you this: If you habitually got plenty of sleep every night – would you have an easier time managing your weight?
  • Lack of movement: Skinny people are not afraid to walk. In fact, they have no problem parking further away and walk a hundred yards when going somewhere. They generally have no problem taking the stairs either. They don’t do it lose weight, but they simply don’t mind doing it. It might not be much, but let me ask you this: If you burned (on average) an extra 100 calories per day just by not taking lazy shortcuts, would it not be easier to maintain your weight or even lose a bit over time rather than constantly gaining more?
  • Lack of nutrition: This is probably the big one right here. There is this perception that most fast food is bad for you but the reality is – it’s not necessarily bad – it simply lacks the nutrition your body needs to function. As a result you’re hungry more often. When your body gets the nutrients it needs, you’re hungry less often.
In other words, stuffing your body with dead calories causes you to put on a lot of excessive weight with little to no needed energy in return. If you ate just a bit more nutritional food (and a bit less “lack of” nutritional food) on a daily basis, would weight not be a whole lot easier to manage?

Skinny people are masters of at least 2 of those. They may not even know it, but they have very simple habits that help them control their weight.

If you master 2 of those points and become semi good at the other one – I will go as far as guarantee that you will have no problems burning your fat and stay in tip-top shape for the rest of your life.

Hi,
My name is Nelson Gomez and I want to take a quick second and do a burnthefat.com review for you – and unlike many reviews you will read, I actually know what I am talking about when it comes to burnthefat.com. I will tell you in a second why!

For most of my life, I was ridiculously overweight and extremely out of shape. Throughout school, I was always the last person chosen when it came to sports and on top of that, I’d get called names that were oftentimes hurtful.

For years I accepted my fate and assumed I was meant to be the fat kid on the block that never amounted to anything financially or relationship wise.

All I can say is… life wasn’t easy for an overweight young man!

Now… the turning point!

While flipping through a magazine at the dentist office before I got called me in, I came across some pictures of Tom Venuto (author and webmaster of burnthefat.com) and out of curiosity started reading the article on the next page.

THAT was my first introduction to Tom Venuto!

Anyways… while reading the article, I felt an instant connection to the author when he related his 14 years of trying everything and yet failing at it. It was my story… I too had tried for years and years and nothing seemed to work.

I was almost drooling over the magazine… consumed by that article when the dental assistant called my name.

I panicked, rolled the magazine in my right hand and followed the young lady to the little corner room where the dentist surprisingly awaited me.

Long story very short, I ended up leaving that dental office about 45 minutes later with that magazine still in my hand.

Do I feel bad about stealing it? Maybe a bit. I am certain though that if the lady at the front counter knew the impact this magazine would have on my life from that day forward, she would have had no problems with me taking it.

Anyways… Tom Venuto!

I researched this guy and came across an ebook he wrote on how to lose the weight, burn the fat, feed the muscles, etc.

Today, I weigh approximately 175 lbs, have less than 10% body fat, have a super good self image which has boosted my self confidence to a level I had never experienced before.

Do I need to say more?

Burn the fat, feed the muscle” works, and it works wonders!

Forget the weight loss shakes, pills or myths that actually hurt your body beyond repair. Stop starving yourself and start doing things the right way, the smart way, the only way, the Tom Venuto way!

Order your copy of Tom’s “Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle” through this site and Tom will give you a free ebook that shows you exactly how you can measure your body fat.

Pretty cool eh?

Weighing myself is not something I do a whole lot.

In other words, I am not overly fascinated with how much I weigh at any given time, but when the opportunity presents itself (example: a scale standing there – waiting to be used), I will step on the scale and see how much I weigh.

A few days ago I stepped on the scale again and realized I had lost 50 lbs (pounds) in the last 6 months. Crazy, no?

I knew I had lost some weight but 50 lbs? That sounds like a LOT of weight!

And it is a lot of weight. Going from 230 lbs to 180 lbs is quite a bit. I am sure you do not dissagree.

Doctors will tell you that it is unhealthy to lose that much weight that fast, but I will say this: it is even more unhealthy for you to keep excessive weight on you. Get rid of it as quickly as possible!

Anyways, I had a hard time believing I was really 50 lbs lighter, but then it dawned on me that it really was nothing extraordinary if looked at from a different perspective.

You see, technically speaking, I lost less then 10 lbs per month… and that is not a whole lot.

You think you could lose 10 lbs a month by cutting back on your food portions? How about by substituting one meal a day for a shake? How about by just eating more fruits and vegetables? How about by going for a 20 minute jog 5 times a week?

The answer is, YES you could lose 10 lbs a month EASILY using just one of the mentioned approaches. It really is not rocket science.

The key is to not look at it as a short term thing. If you want the results to last, a diet will not do.

Make it a change in lifestyle. Make it part of who you are.

Be determined to burn fat for the rest of your life and whatever vehicle you choose to do it with, make it a ritual: a habit you practice on a daily basis.

Remember, burning fat while feeding the muscles is not something you do once or twice a month. No, it needs to become a daily practice!

Let’s face it. Many of us think we know how to burn fat and what works best for us. We all have a common theory and agree that adjusting food intake and increasing physical activity, which is absolutely right. Funny enough, when confronted with the many different ways on how to burn fat, people start becoming sceptic and defensive. “Oh that won’t work for me…I’m different.” You’ll be surprised how many times I’ve heard this.

The truth is, many people are afraid to commit and even more afraid of challenge. They lack commitment and the drive to lose weight and keep the weight off. I don’t mean to be so blunt, but frankly, this is why so many of us stay fat.

We all know, at some level, how to burn fat. We just need to make the leap in making that first, and often hardest, step to commit. Procrastinating and saying you’ll start tomorrow will not get you any closer to losing that first pound. You need to make that step NOW. Even if it’s just baby steps, you’ll still make progress. Slow, yes, but steady progress. Besides, if you know anything about how to burn fat at all, you’ll know that slow and steady guarantees more permanent results.

Procrastination is a huge obstacle in achieving fat loss. It can be quite a plague really. It plays a role in other aspects of your life too. It makes you feel defeated, unmotivated and often guilty. None of which will help with your fat loss efforts. Procrastination is a killer and needs to be put behind us.

Here is a procrastinator’s guide on how to burn fat. The first step is to see the end from the beginning. Visualise how you’d like to end up looking and hold on to that image. Secondly, set a due date to reach your goal. The next step is where it gets a little bit complicated. Find out the estimated caloric intake specific to you to sustain fat loss of 1 pound per week. There are many online fat loss calculators out there you can use. Finally, just do it. Remember, there is power in momentum. Once you get started, keep going!

Fat loss is not going to happen by itself. Nothing will happen if you don’t take action. And that applies to anything in life. You need to get up and get out there to know if it works. So no more “It doesn’t work for me” excuses.

I can guarantee you that once you’ve got your feet wet you’ll never feel the same way again. You say you know how to burn fat, but that means nothing if can’t prove it.

You owe it to yourself to overcome this fat loss killer. How to burn fat if you’re not doing anything about it? Remember, it’s all about baby steps. Get yourself out of the trap and you’ll see immediate rewards, not only to your physical appearance but also in your self esteem, confidence and general outlook in life.
